Patterned Jeans

Hey guys!

It's been a while, well actually only 6 days, but you catch my drift. Today I am feeling very energetic for some reason and felt like writing a blog post about my recent love for patterned jeans.

Patterned jeans can be worn in many ways, with a gorgeous, sheer, floaty blouse or maybe a vibrant, cosy jumper or sweat shirt. The amount of different styles are endless. Shoe wise, there are also multiple choices, you could go with some cute little ankle boots, some converse or some strappy heels or sandals.
To me, patterned jeans can really put an outfit together. They add a touch of colour and contrast. If say, you brought a very basic, but nice white tank top and you felt it looked a bit dreary or dull with just plain jeans, patterned jeans can save you. They will be your best friend in these circumstances, there is no doubt in my mind about that.

Here are a few of my favourites.

Topshop Moto Tile Print Leigh Jeans in Blue (WHITE) - Lyst

(the reason they are cheap is because they are reduced to clear, so get in there quickly!)

As you can see, I like the more subtle patterned jeans, but if you are more of a bright and vibrant girl, there are hundreds of pairs out there that will suit your taste!

Thank you so much for reading.

Everyday is a new beginning, take a deep breath and start again.

Weekend Pamper Products

Hey guys!

Today I am going to be writing about my favourite pamper products to use at the weekend. This week, I chose 3 that I would love to share with you!

The Body Shop have a huge range of hand products and I love pretty much all of the ones that I have tried. This hand cream is especially designed for really dry skin (which I have), and works a miracle. I know it is not winter anymore, but I think it's essential to keep your hands moisturised all year round whether they are particularly dry or not. It absorbs really quickly and does leave your hands all sticky but feeling fresh and smooth.

I have loved this scrub for months now after it was recommended to me by a friend whilst shopping in Boots. It isn't harsh and can get rid of pretty much any dry skin. Your skin feel smooth and nourished after using it, I apply it in the shower onto damp skin and it works a treat, I would recommend this to anyone as it is suited to pretty much all skin types.

I know this isn't exactly a pampering product, but it is to me. Painting my nails really helps me to relax. I love these nail polishes for a while now and I hope to continue my collection of them. As it's spring and pastels are in, I have chosen to paint my nails in the colour 'Sugar Apple'. This is a gorgeous aqua/mint green and I love it. This polish is so long lasting and easy to apply.

Thank you so much for reading, I hope if you do decide to purchase or have already purchased these items you love them as much as I do!

5 Makeup Can-Not-Live-Withouts

Hey Guys!

We all have those beauty items that is essential in our daily routine, and today I'm going to be talking through the makeup products that are essential to me.

Mascara
I love mascara, mainly because it makes you look so much more awake. When I wake up I literally look like a zombie and all the life is sucked out of my skin. Add a touch of mascara and it instantly changes that, as well as add that 'pop' to your eyes.

Eyebrow Pencil/Tint
I am sure that you've heard the phrase 'eyebrows really frame your face' before. So I am not going to enlighten you by saying that myself, but it is very true. A bold eyebrow can really transform a look. If you don't have much time on your hands to do much on your eyes, make the eyebrows the key element of the look by filling them in slightly.

Concealer
Unfortunately I can't currently use concealer around my eyes because of my dermatitis, but if this wasn't the case I would be piling it on. Concealer, even though given it's name means to 'cover' was not intended to do so, but to brighten parts of the face. I love brightening concealers as well as high coverage concealer, but it they do both, all the better.

Moisturising Lip Product
I know this is a bit specific, but I honestly can't live without moisture on my lips. There is nothing I hate more than dry lips and I always have to keep a lip product on hand. Whether that is just a simple lip balm, or something that transfers colour like a tinted balm or moisturising lipstick.

Pressed Powder
I am really not a loose powder sort of girl, it's too messy and too much gets transfered onto the brush. Pressed powders are amazing though, it will take a very long time before hitting pan even if you are piling it on. Especially in summer when it tends to get a bit hot and sweaty (although not so much in England), powder will be your best friend and keep your skin matte for hours.

Thank you so much for reading, sorry I posted a little late today!

Easter Biscuits

 Hey Guys!

Today I am going to be sharing with you how to make Easter biscuits! It's a super easy recipe and does not include many ingredients!

Ingredients

For the biscuits;
200g softened butter
150g caster sugar
Yolk of 2 large free range eggs
400g plain flour - plus extra for flouring
1 level tsp of mixed spice
1 level tsp of ground cinnamon
2-4 tsp of milk

(If you would like the traditional currant biscuits, all you need is 100g currants and a little caster sugar for sprinkling)

For the icing;
1-2 tsp of lemon juice
250g of icing sugar
around 2 tbsp of cold water
multi-coloured food colouring

Method
Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4. Lightly grease two baking trays lined with baking parchment.

Measure the butter and sugar into a bowl and beat together until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg yolk. Sieve in the flour and spices and add enough milk to give a fairly soft dough. Bring together, using your hands, to make a soft dough.

Halve the mixture and set half to one side.

For the traditional currant biscuits, add the currants to the remaining half of the mixture and knead it lightly on a lightly floured work surface. Roll out to a thickness of about 5mm/¼in. Cut into rounds using a circular cutter. Place on the prepared baking trays. Sprinkle with caster sugar.

Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, or until pale golden-brown. Keep a careful eye on the biscuits - it doesn’t matter if you open the oven door to check. Sprinkle with caster sugar and lift onto a wire rack to cool. Store in an airtight container.

For the iced biscuits, knead the remaining half of the biscuit dough mixture lightly on a lightly floured work surface. Roll out to a thickness of 5mm/¼in. Cut out Easter biscuits using an assortment of shaped cutters, such as bunnies, Easter eggs, chicks, spring flowers.

Lightly grease two baking trays lined with baking parchment.
Place the biscuit shapes on the prepared baking trays and bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes. Remove from the oven and lift on to a wire rack to cool.

To make the icing, pass one teaspoon of lemon juice through a fine sieve, to remove any pips or bits. Mix the icing sugar with the lemon juice, and then add about two tablespoons of water, adding it little by little until you have a relatively stiff but smooth icing. Add a splash more sieved lemon juice if necessary.

Divide the icing into separate bowls and mix in food colourings of your choice into the separate bowls of icing, until you achieve the desired shade.

Spoon a little icing into a piping bag and pipe your decorations onto the biscuits. For a smooth finish, you can pipe the outline of your design in the firmer icing, then slacken it down a bit by mixing in a little more water, giving the icing more of a runny consistency, and use this to fill in the designs.

Thank you for reading, happy baking!

Spring Everday Makeup Routine

Hi Guys!

I am not going to go through everything that I use and how I use it, but I'll list what I use and go through my eye shadow routine!

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara in 'Blackest Black'
Rimmel GlamEyes Quad in 'Sweet Smoulder' (no longer available)
Sleek Blush in 'Pomegranate'
Maybelline Brow Drama in 'Deep Blonde'
Soap & Glory Brow Archery in 'Love Is Blonde'
Boots Brow Wand (Similar)
Topshop Kohl Pencil in 'Sable'

This is what goes on my face just about everyday at the moment!

With the Rimmel Quad, I use the shimmery cream champagne colour all over the lid, use the white in the inner corners of my eye and brow bone, use the sparkly black in my crease for definition and then blend out. I put the Topshop Kohl Pencil on my waterline and tightline.
I have shared my brow routine with you, I use the concealer on any blemishes, not around my eyes due to my skin condition.  The foundation, I just apply a small amount on my cheeks, nose, forehead and chin with a Real Techniques Buffing Brush to even out my skin tone. I sweet a bit of the Sleek Blush onto the apples of my cheeks with a Real Techniques Contour Brush to add a bit of colour to my cheeks.

Hair Care Routine

Hey guys!

This post will be longer than my skincare routine as it is for my hair, and believe me my hair needs a lot doing to it to keep it in good condition. Just to let you know before I begin, my hair is not thick but not thin, it is medium in the range of thickness but can sometimes look very thin and is a medium, mousey brown colour.

1) The first thing that I use to keep my hair in good condition, is my Schwarzkopf Essence Ultime Crystal Shine Shampoo. I really like this, it does what it says on the tin, really locks that 'shine' into your hair. I do like the condition that goes with this, which I do sometimes use, but this is my hair 'care' routine not what I do on an everyday basis.

2) I loveeee hair masks. They can repair you hair in a matter of minutes and you really see the difference. My favourite one at the moment is the Argan Oil Hydrating Hair Mask with Moroccan Oil. I apply this from mid lengths to ends after my shampoo and leave in for around 20 minutes. You can pick up this mask from anywhere, it is SO cheap and does a much better job than a lot of more expensive hair masks I have used did.

3) I then towel dry my hair and spray some of the Schwarzkopf Got 2b Guardian Angel Heat Protection Spray all over my hair before blow drying. This is an amazing heat protection spray. It isn't sticky, it smells amazing and really does protect your hair from the heat. I blow dry my hair upside down to give more volume and texture to my hair.

I'm going to be honest with you, I never curl or do anything to my hair from this point on. I am not particularly good with hair styling and if I try and add some texture to my hair by using a spray that is supposed to add that, I know that 10 minutes later my hair will be flat to my head again so I do not see the point. I don't straighten my hair because it is already dead straight. But I do use this next spray, I love the glossiness it gives to my hair even if not volume.

4) Next I use the Charles Worthington Results Shine All Over Spray. I am not sure if this is still available in store, because I brought it ages ago and you only need a tiny bit to achieve the best results. I just spray it all over my hair using only a small amount, as I just said, then scrunch up my hair and brush through it.

As I said before, I don't do much with my hair, but if we are going somewhere special or my hair is being stubborn and doesn't look like it is going to stay in place (if clipped up etc), I would choose to use this hairspray, the Toni & Guy Flexible Hold Hairspray. It keeps your hair in place, doesn't make your hair stiff or sticky and doesn't leave any marks. It is very light, but very effective.

Thank you guys so much for reading! I hope that if your hair is similar to mine, this helped you or if it isn't and you're just looking for some new products to try!

Happiness is a direction, not a place.

Morning Spring Skincare

Hey Guys!

Here is how I freshen up in the morning with my current skincare routine!

1)I use the emollient mentioned in my evening skincare, called Dermol, to remove any dirt or anything I may have missed the previous night, of my face. I do this by massaging it into my dry skin and then wiping my face afterwards with a warm, damp flannel.

2) I spray some of the Lush Breath of Fresh Air Toner Water onto my face and rub it in, just to add some hydration to my very dry, dull skin. As well as giving that fresh feeling to my skin that really wakes you up. This toner is amazing on dry, sensitive skin and I would definetley recommend it!

3) I then apply the same moisturiser that was prescribed to me by my doctor for my facial dermatitis, that I also mentioned in my evening skincare, called Doublebase. It is basically a really thick moisturiser and works really well at hiding my dry patches. It is designed to bring all the oils in your skin to the surface, to create a barrier that my skin fails to properly produce naturally.

4)I then apply my favourite lip balm, Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm. This preps my lips for any lip gloss or lipstick that I may apply later on and there is nothing worse than having dry, chapped lips!

Thank you guys for watching! I'm sorry both of my skincare routines are short, but there are not many products that I can use on my skin, due to my dermatitis.

Giving up is an option, you make the choice.

Saturday/Sunday; Charles Worthing VS Oribe
This is Saturday's post, which was obviously meant to go up on Saturday but ended up going up just before this post as I was busy yesterday and I didn't want the post to be rushed. I shared with you my views on the Oribe dupe Charles Worthing Volume and Bounce Spray.

Thankyou for reading this week! I'll see you tomorrow with a brand new post!

You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.

Charles Worthington Volume & Bounce Spray

Hi guys!

The Charles Worthington Volume & Bounce Spray has been claimed to be an Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray, but personally, I disagree. I have brown hair that is quite fine and almost has no texture or volume to it at all. I myself, do not own the Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray, mainly because of the price tag that comes along with it. But, I have seen many videos where it is shown being applied and it looks amazing on pretty much everyone's hair.
So, when I heard about this Charles Worthington dupe, I was very excited because it was a fraction of the price and I generally love Charles Worthington products. But this, I wasn't impressed with. It is meant to have that 'hairspray' hold and that I do agree with and it is fine to spray on hair that has been freshly curled or straightened. It does leave your hair very stiff and sticky feeling though, as well as leaving chalky white marks.
This might just be my hair, I don't know. If I was you I would try it out as it is a great price and see if it works for you because there are lots of mixed opinions on this spray.

Thankyou for reading, I'm sorry this post was delayed!

You create your own opportunities, don't forget that.

Evening Spring Skincare

Hi guys!
I am also going to be writing a post on my morning skincare, just to let you know. This may seem like an interesting thing to read about, but honestly mine is very short and most of the products I cannot recommend to you as they are doctor prescribed for the serious dermatitis (type of eczema) all over my face. There are a few beauties that have really helped my skin though!

Firstly, I use the prescribed emollient that I have to break down my makeup. After this, I kind of look like a panda haha and to remove that makeup still on my face, I use a warm, damp flannel. This emollient is antibacterial and does really remove my makeup well, leaving my face squeaky clean.

Then, I use either a toner or micellar water to help hydrate my face and make sure that every last bit of makeup and dirt has been removed. I really like the L'Oreal Skin Perfection Micellar Water or the Garnier Soft Essentials Toner for the evening. I apply this with a simple cotton pad all over my face.

Next, I know this doesn't count as skincare, but I moisturise my body using a body butter. I really like The Body Shop body butters but I have finished mine and at the moment I am using the Soap & Glory Righteous Body Butter. It is very nice but does take a while to sink into the skin.

Finally, I use my prescribed Doublebase Gel all over my face, and as told to by the doctors, I use ALOT. It is basically like a really thick moisturiser and in the bottle looks like white jelly. It is to bring the oils to the top of my skin as a barrier, as whilst having dermatitis my skin struggles to naturally do that. It helps prevent the dryness too but does make your skin very greasy/oily, as you would expect so I usually tie my hair up or but a headband on when applying this.

Thank you so much for reading, if you suffer from dermatitis too, I hope it helped you to know what I use.

Be yourself, everyone else is taken.

My Spring Wishlist

Hi guys!
As promised, here is the first of my daily Easter posts! I have lots of exciting posts to come that I hope you will enjoy.

As I do not own much makeup and skincare from high end brands, most of this is high end and I hope 2014 is the year my high end collection starts to blossom!

1)Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush

Hourglass products are beyond gorgeous, and these blushes have been raved about quite a lot. You don't even have to think twice about why, just look at them! They come in very bright, fresh colours in a marbleised pattern and have a slight shimmer.
As you can see they come in a gorgeous sleek, gold packaging and in a variety of colours. I particularly have my eye on 'Dim Infusion' and 'Luminous Flush' ;).

2)Zoeva Rose Golden Luxury Set

I love Zoeva, mainly because the brushes and products are so high quality, at so little price. They are very similar to Mac brushes, but I think look much nicer. In particular, this Rose Golden set is absolutely stunning and as I love love love rose gold it is a perfect match. It is ONLY £58.00 for 8 brushes, both for eyes and face.
These are very popular, and have been in a lot of blog posts. The 227 would be ideal to use in the crease of the eye, just the thought excites me!

3)Kiehls Midnight Recovery

My first skincare item, this serum/concentrate is meant to be a miracle worker. You apply this before bed and your skin is meant to be rejuvenated and freshened overnight. I have had my eye on this for a while, but it is just so expensive!

The navy packaging is gorgeous too! It's basically a dream product to have in your skincare routine and I don't know anyone who wouldn't even want to try this beauty!

4) Nars Laguna Bronzer

This product was launched a few years ago now and has been purchased by pretty much everyone, except me. It is a beautiful light bronze colour, to give your face a bit of colour and define those cheekbones (as all bronzers do, aha).

I love the Nars packaging, even though it is very simple, it is unique all the same. This bronzer adds a lot of definition to your face and I want it!!

5) Daniel Sandler Watercolour Blush

I know this is the second blush on my list, but it's spring, blushes are an essential, right? I was introduced to this product by Essiebutton (Estee) and I haven't stopped thinking about it since. It is basically a gel like consistency that is applied to your cheekbones like any other blush, to add a splash of colour.

The packaging is so cute and pretty, and it is made to be squeezed out of the bottle I believe. It claims to be 'water-resistant' and from what I've heard it is very long wearing, so it could be true!

Thank you so much for reading, I hope you enjoyed my first post of the fortnight.

Be who you are, not who someone wants you to be.

March Favourites & Catchup

Hey guys,

I have been really bad with this blog lately and have not been posting hardly at all. I am going to make a big commitment to this blog and from Monday 7th April until Monday 21st April, I am going to try my best to post everyday. This is my Easter school holiday and I thought it would be a good opportunity to freshen up my blog and make the posts a lot more interesting, being a newbie to blogging. These will be decent sized posts and I may even try and include some of my own photography.

This March, I haven't really brought many beauty products or tried many new things, so out of my five favourites, only two are beauty based.

1. Soap & Glory Original Pink Eau De Parfum. I was given this at Christmas by my parents and I hadn't really used it much until a few weeks ago. I absolutely love the scent of this. It is the original Soap & Glory scent, which is very light, fresh and perfect for spring. I get compliments when wearing it as it's the kind of scent that almost everyone loves. Not to strong, yet the scent lingers around throughout the day.
It is around £16.50 and you can pick it up from any boots store.

2. My second and final beauty favourite is Rimmel Scandaleyes Eye Paint. These have been round for a while and have been raved about quite a lot. I picked one up at the beginning of the month in the shade Rich Russet. This is a very pretty shimmery bronze. What I love about these eye paints is that you can apply it quite heavily and smoke it out at the corners, or apply it lightly as a base or by itself. It is very quick to apply, does not crease and is very long lasting. I use my Real Techniques Detailer Brush to transfer it onto my lid as I find it more effective that way. It is perfect for school and is only £4.99.

3) My third favourite is actually an item of clothing. Around 2 weeks ago I purchased the Maisie Red Tartan Leggings from Boohoo.com. I had wanted some tartan leggings for a while and was very excited about these as I really liked them. I was worried because they were only available in a 10 and although I have very long legs, they are also very slim and there was the chance of the leggings being baggy or too large at the waist. The waste band was in fact elasticated as well as the fabric containing elastane to help them fit around the shape of your legs. I love the way that they look on and can be worn with all sorts of tops and they contain quite a few different colours.

I love the style of them, I had never seen any like them and they were at an amazing price of £8.00.

4) I have been absolutely loving Green Tea this month. I have liked Green Tea for quite a while now but lately even more so. I feel like it is a spring drink as it's hot but also very fresh tasting and I find it gives you a boost in the morning. I am not going to insert a picture of Green Tea, haha but I love Tetley's.

5) I love Lindsey Kelk's books. The I Heart series is amazing and I cannot stop reading it. I had read the I Heart Christmas book this month, which is the last in the series. It is an easy read and takes you into the world of Angela Clark. I now feel like I want to move to New York and live her life that's how drawn in I am. I know this is a Christmas based book but I just wanted to complete the series and this was a Christmas present, I could not wait until next year to read it. The books give be a boost and are so bright and cheerful. I would really recommend the books and Lindsey Kelk does have a blog so I would recommend checking out lindseykelk.com.

Thankyou so much for reading! I don't know about you guys but I am so happy that spring is here and so glad the horrible weather is just about over! I will see you on Monday for the first post of the 14 day series.
